A special thanks to those who showed up for tonight’s agape making! All are invited to join us tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. at our Midfield location as we shower the community with God’s agape love! Please arrive on time, as we will be covering some very important logistics before going out into the community.
____________
“Sadly, this idea of the church as a predatorial presence has created one of many “walls” between the church and the world. The idea that one has to do something, be something, or give something has created an imperceptible barricade on the pathway to evangelism. Though the development and well-being of the local church is determined by the contributions of its parishioners, what an individual has to offer the church is not—and should not be— the heart of the church. This was never God’s desire, or Christ’s mandate for His followers…Contrary to popular belief, the church is not about what it can get from you. The church is about giving you something. It’s about giving you Christ.
IT IS HIGH TIME THAT THE WALLS BETWEEN THE CHURCH AND THE WORLD COME DOWN.
When we go out for these eight days, it’s not about an ask or a want. We will come in complete humility, and as conduits of Christ’s unconditional, agape love. We are not asking for money, for anyone we meet to participate in anything, or even asking that they join a particular church. That is their choice. My hope for Operation Jericho is that as we, the church, offer our service to the community through gifts, prayer, and presence, that the individuals we encounter will receive the free gift of salvation that Christ offers through His people. My hope is that the walls of sin and separation from God will be torn down. My hope is that the walls of addiction, anger, hurt, violence, and oppression in our communities will be utterly destroyed. My hope for Operation Jericho is that the church will be seen as a viable entity, representative of the love, peace, and freedom that God offers a lost world through Christ.”
(Excerpt from the book: “Operation Jericho: Possessing the Land,” by Robert A. Lewis, III.)

All are also invited to join us in prayer and fasting for the next 8 days. For our relaunch, we are asking that you fast according to the Holy Spirit’s leadership, similar to that of the Lenten season. We ask that you partner with us in praying for safety, that hearts are prepared to receive the love of Christ through His people, and that the walls of depression, oppression, and hopelessness in our communities be torn down.
For those who are able and willing to join us, we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
